Module 8
Module 8: Coding and Thematic Analysis of Qualitative Data
In Module 8, you’ll enhance your skills in coding and analyzing qualitative data using thematic analysis methods. This module is divided into two practical sessions:
Session 1: Deductive and Inductive Coding with Real Data Examples
• Learn the differences between deductive (applying pre-set codes) and inductive (allowing codes to emerge from the data) coding techniques.
• Practice applying both methods to real-world data, improving your ability to organize and interpret qualitative information.
Session 2: Generating Themes from Coded Qualitative Data
• Discover how to identify patterns and develop themes from your coded data.
• Learn to synthesize these themes to extract meaningful insights that can inform policies and strategies.
By the end of this module, you’ll be proficient in the steps of thematic analysis and capable of transforming raw qualitative data into actionable findings.
