Disability Inclusive Risk Communication & Community Engagement

During the recent Collective Service Global Call held on September 26th, Kristel Juriloo, UNICEF ESAR Programme Officer (Children with Disabilities), delivered an overview presentation on ‘Disability Inclusive Risk Communication & Community Engagement.’

The main objectives of the presentation were to provide a comprehensive definition of disability, emphasize the importance of disability inclusion, highlight the increased risks faced by persons living with disabilities during emergencies and showcase some successful examples of best practices. These examples included the COVAX uptake in Tanzania within the community and the Malaria Mass Drug Administration (MDA) program in Uganda.
