COVID-19 Risk Communication & Community Engagement Stories from the Field – India
Description
India, along with many other countries, has a Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) team that is part of the public health emergency system at both the national and state level. As COVID-19 cases continue to increase, effective management and the response also increases. UNICEF India has partnered with numerous stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations, the National Centre for Disease Control, Health and Family Welfare, and many others to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The country has not only faced the COVID-19 pandemic; it is also currently facing a rapid spread of misinformation. To tackle this, India has developed a community-specific and sensitive framework. This framework helps responders understand and leverage social perceptions, norms, and beliefs related to COVID-19.
