Cholera Questions Bank
This resource is a menu of qualitative and quantitative questions related to socio-behavioural factors and cholera. It seeks to facilitate the collection of quality data on community’s capacity, behaviours, practices and perceptions in relation to cholera prevention and management. It can be used by field teams and / or local research teams working in communities with cholera transmission and those at risk adhering to safety and protection protocols.
A Behavioural Playbook for Public Health Responses
This playbook focuses on Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) solutions to public health crises, drawing upon promising SBC initiatives that were deployed during the COVID-19 pandemic within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The playbook has been created as a resource for practitioners within UNICEF and beyond, distilling lessons learned from the MENA region to shape more effective strategies for future responses to epidemics, pandemics and other types of health crises – using an SBC lens.

Information preparedness and community engagement for El Niño in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region
This key considerations brief describes the implications of El Niño in the East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR) for Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) initiatives, based on previous comparable weather events. Lessons learnt are predominantly taken from the literature on communicating forecast and weather information, but have implications for multi-hazard RCCE response. Some lessons learnt are also taken from beyond East and Southern Africa, but considered within the anticipated El Niño effects in ESAR specifically.
Public Health Situation Analysis: El Niño, Global Climate Event (October-December 2023)
This Public Health Situation Analysis (PHSA) identifies the current and potential health impacts that vulnerable populations may face as a result of the global El Niño climate event, and describes health systems’ capacities to respond. This is the second edition of this Public Health Situation Analysis; it updates the climate forecast for the months of October through December 2023 and re-assesses the health risks in the updated context.
